Staying power
The Sokito Scudetta has received a lot of attention and praise since it launched in the middle of last year. It won boot of the year for BootWizard and I as well as other places. Not only that, but in a lot of people’s minds it sets down a marker for what we can expect from new brands. After all, Sokito does not have the marketing power and research and development cash like a lot of bigger companies.
And yet, not only is the Scudetta far more environmentally friendly (following Sokito’s mission to make eco-friendly products) but it also is an Elite boot that is a good twenty-five to thirty percent cheaper than other speed boots on the market. It is a refreshing change. But sometimes we can get clouded by marketing spiel and getting caught up in the moment, so I decided to re-review the Scudetta. And yeah, they are still ridiculously good.

As a lot of people can see on social media, the Scudetta is continuing to pop up everywhere and there is good reason for this. As soon as you get the boots on feet, you will understand. Every single time I wear the boots I am reminded why I love them so much. After the most obvious choice in the world for me, the Scudetta is the second boot in my bag and they come with me everywhere. This is pretty weird for me because my rotation has always been a couple of leather boots plus whatever I am testing at the time. After the launch of the Scudetta, even unconsciously the boots always seem to wind up in my bag.

I think the Sokito Scudetta scratches a certain itch for me. I used to only wear speed boots, and even when I started wearing leather boots more and more, I always wanted to make sure that I had at least one pair of back up speed boots in my collection. I have wasted a lot of money over the years looking for the speed boot that does it for me. There have been many, many, many boots I have tried but there has always been something that has put me off. When I wear the Scudetta though, everything just seems to click for me.
A lot of the game is mental, and how you think (or don’t think) when your boots are on your feet is part of it. For me, I am pretty conscious of what is on my feet for the first few minutes I wear something and I am definitely one of those people who realise pretty quickly whether or not a boot will work for me. The greatest compliment I can give the Scudetta is not that I forget that they are on my feet, but that I feel more assured when wearing them.

Part of this comes down to the touch on the ball, which, as I have mentioned before, is excellent. But the other part of this is that I love the soleplate and the springback I get from the soleplate. This is not to say that the boots are perfect, as a model with an AG soleplate will be something that a lot of people will want/need but for me, this is an excellent soleplate.

The little details and slight grip on the ball is also something I greatly appreciate as I do prefer having some sort of grip element on the upper of synthetic boots. This works well with the super soft upper and there is such a lovely touch on the ball.

In short, the Sokito Scudetta is still fantastic and is definitely on my mind when it comes to my matchday rotation. A lot of people are rightly impressed when they feel the boots in hand and even more so on feet. It is a boot that you can tell that a lot of attention went into getting all of the details right and Sokito is being rightly rewarded with a massive increase in popularity and market, as well as on feet, presence. Brilliant boots.
